In my experience working with Student Housing Australia, I have come across many students trying to find suitable student accommodation within Melbourne and the surrounding areas. I would love to give you 5 simple steps to finding student accommodation with SHA.

LOCATION

Student Housing Australia apartments are only minutes away from major universities and colleges across Melbourne. That means you will not need to wake up early after those late nights of studying. On the other hand, I have found students would rather live close to their workplace or relatives, where SHA buildings have easy access to buses/tram/train to go to their schools. But either way, Student Housing Australia will be able to guide you to find the best location for your needs.

Visit Student Housing Australia’s location page to see where our apartments are located.

BUDGETING

Moving out for the first time can be hard for students, where accommodation prices can vary depending on if you want to live by yourself or share with your friends/family. Student Housing Australia understands this situation and knowing students are working with a limited budget, SHA rental prices are very competitive. Furthermore, many of our rental prices may include some utilities, which is one less thing to worry about when you move in.

Visit Student Housing Australia’s availability page to see the prices of our apartments.

APARTMENTS

When you move into a SHA apartment, you will realise you will only need to bring your personal items, as many of our apartments are semi or fully furnished. Once you vacate, you won’t need to worry about selling that fridge or bed, as it was already there when you first arrived.

You can see the inventory list on each building’s page.

INSPECTIONS

Are you ready to view your student accommodation for 2022? SHA are currently holding their inspections for the summer leasing period. You will be able to check out your bathroom, kitchen and bedroom, and then you will be asking our leasing officers how to apply. Students will be coming back to Melbourne to study, so don’t miss out on this opportunity before it is too late.

Visit Student Housing Australia’s inspection page to see the inspection times.

APPLICATION

Have you decided which apartment you want to apply for? Now it’s time to apply.

The application is a simple process, where SHA will ask you for;

  • A digital copy of your current Student Card or Letter of Offer, Passport and current Bank Statement (Australian preferred) in a JPEG or PDF format. This must be uploaded when you are completing your Application Form. We cannot process your application without these documents.
  • Print the Parental Guarantee Form for your parents to complete and sign.
  • If you are applying as a couple, or for a 2/3 bedroom share apartment, each tenant/applicant must fill in a separate online Application Form. Please add the name of the person you will be sharing within the Additional Comments Section at the bottom – otherwise, we will not know your application is for a joint tenancy.

Once our property manager has received your application, they will contact you about the status of your application. The next step is to seek the owner’s approval for your application, which could take up to 2-3 business days.

Visit the application page on our website if you are ready to move in.
